Struggling with missing teeth or loose old dentures?

Complete loss of teeth can affect chewing, speech, facial support, and overall confidence. Today’s modern dentures are lighter, better fitting, and far more natural-looking than older designs. Made using advanced, high-density, vacuum-polymerised, lightweight materials, they offer improved comfort, better stability, and a natural-looking smile that feels secure and confident in everyday use.

What Are Complete Dentures?

Dentures are custom-made, removable appliances that replace missing teeth and restore chewing, speech, and facial support. They sit comfortably on your gums and help maintain proper bite alignment.

Who Needs Dentures?

Dentures are ideal for people who have:

  • Multiple missing teeth
  • Difficulty chewing due to gaps
  • Loose, worn-out older dentures
  • Teeth weakened by decay or gum disease
  • Facial sagging or sunken cheeks
  • Need for an affordable removable replacement
  • Replacing of a denture that is more than 3 years old

A clinical examination and X-rays help determine whether complete dentures, partial dentures, or implant-supported options are right for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Dentures

Dentures are removable prosthetic teeth and gum replacements used when multiple or all natural teeth are missing. Complete dentures replace a full arch; partial dentures fill gaps when some natural teeth remain. They are recommended when teeth are lost due to advanced gum disease, severe decay, trauma, or age-related tooth loss where implants are not feasible.

Clove Dental offers complete acrylic dentures, partial dentures (acrylic or cast metal framework), flexible Valplast partial dentures, immediate dentures (placed on the same day teeth are extracted), and implant-supported overdentures for patients who need superior stability and long-term jawbone preservation. The most appropriate type is selected after a full clinical assessment.

Most patients adapt within 4–8 weeks. The brain relearns the muscle coordination needed for eating and speaking with the new prosthesis. Initial challenges, increased saliva, mild soreness, and slightly altered speech, are temporary. Clove Dental schedules multiple follow-up adjustment appointments within the first 8 weeks to refine fit and eliminate pressure sore areas.

Remove and rinse dentures after every meal. Brush once daily with a soft denture brush and mild denture cleaner, never regular toothpaste, which is abrasive and scratches the acrylic surface. Soak overnight in a denture cleaning solution. Always clean your gums, palate, and tongue with a soft brush before reinserting dentures to prevent fungal (Candida) overgrowth.

Conventional acrylic dentures typically last 5–8 years before relining or replacement is needed, as the jawbone naturally changes shape after tooth loss. Implant-supported dentures last 10–15+ years. Annual check-ups at Clove Dental allow early identification of fit changes before dentures become uncomfortable or unstable, enabling timely relining.

Implant-supported dentures (overdentures) snap onto 2–4 dental implants strategically placed in the jaw, providing secure, slip-free retention without adhesive. They vastly improve chewing efficiency, speech, and confidence compared to conventional dentures. Crucially, the implants also stimulate the jawbone, preventing the ongoing bone resorption that occurs with standard dentures.

Yes. A denture reline, adding new acrylic to the fitting surface, restores the fit of an otherwise intact denture as the jawbone changes shape. A chairside reline provides an interim solution; a laboratory-processed reline offers more durability. Clove Dental’s prosthodontists assess whether relining, rebasing (replacing the entire acrylic base), or fabricating new dentures is the right solution for your specific situation.

The process of having dentures made is not painful, impressions, try-ins, and fittings involve no discomfort. New dentures may cause soreness at pressure points on the gum ridges during the first few weeks. These areas are adjusted at review appointments. Clove Dental includes follow-up adjustment visits within the first 4–8 weeks of denture delivery to ensure a comfortable, well-fitting result.

Generally clove has good dentists.Earlier this location also had a good. But currently this clinic has an incompetent dentist who can't even place temporary partial dentures. Go to any other dentist but this one is a BIG NO.
